Hello again.....

Hi to all!

Wow, it's been almost a year since I have posted here. So sorry about that. I'm hoping to do some more posting soon.

We added a new addition to our family last May and it's been a roller-coaster ride ever since....well, a little before he was born, too! :0)

God is doing some awesome things in our lives. How about you? I hope so. We must keep seeking Him, the life-changing things He's always doing, continually giving praise, always soaking Him up. I want to be consumed by Him, don't you?

Thoughts and Tidbits on Revival

Josiah Generation at 940 S. McCrary Street in Woodbury, TN is in REVIVAL! We are in the midst of a Great Awakening and a powerful presence of God that is changing people. His presence is bringing life to dry bones, delivering those in bondage, and totally transforming lives.

I am overwhelmed and in awe at what God is doing and just thought I'd post a few tidbits that our pastors, Jr. & Loretta Rhodes have said during our services:

He is the Pearl of Great Price.....do we value Him enough?

Revival is passion, priority and commitment.

When God shows up the division that is already in the church becomes stirred up. Most people will blame the division on the Spirit of God/Revival....but, it was already there and God just revealed it.

Revival is: A fight for the restoration of the honor of God in the earth.

Revival restores the church to its original pattern--it's not an option.

Revival is not a fight to get the Kingdom of God to come, it's a fight to get our "kingdom" to go.

Martyrs are not those who look down the barrel of a gun, but those who decide life is not about them, but about giving their all to Jesus.

Satan cannot hold back a move of God--only I can hold back God.

Our worship of God must exceed our comfort.

The more of Jesus I get, the more I want!

Begin to live life out of who HE is, not who I am.

Deeper Still

I've been reading a little from Heidi Baker's book Expecting Miracles. I just picked it up last night at this place:

When Ezekiel was drawn by the angel of the Lord, deeper and deeper into the river of God, eventually the water came up to his waist, and it was a river he could not cross. The water was deep enough to swim in. Ezekiel had come to the place of immersion. This is the place I am continually contending to be in my life. I pray there would be a holy hunger that rises up in you, too, so that you would begin contending for a life of full submersion and enter the place where your will is totally subject to His will, your spirit subject to His spirit. This is the place where the miracles can begin to happen.

The more immersed in God you become, the less of a grip "normal" life has on you. Circumstances throw themselves against you, but you remain unmoved.
Wow! How powerful! This is right where I want to be. I want to be immersed in the river of God, my will subject to His will, my spirit subject to His spirit.

Where is the Battlefield?

We are in a spiritual war. The location of this war, more often than not, is in our very own mind.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (NIV)

3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Ephesians 2:1-3 (New International Version)

1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful naturea]">[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.


If we allow one single thought that is not of God into our minds and dwell on it for too long, we will allow a stronghold to be built in our lives.

So, what is a stronghold and how does this happen?

A stronghold is anything in our lives that prohibits us from being or doing our best for God.

How are they developed?

1. They begin with ungodly thoughts.

Matthew 15:17-20 (NIV)

17"Don't you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' 19For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.' "

Philippians 4:6-8 (NIV)

6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

2. If we allow the thoughts and do not take them captive, they will turn into imaginations.

3. If we do not cast down the imaginations, they will become a stronghold.

This is pretty powerful when you look at the supporting scriptures. Wow! My thoughts is where it all begins. That means that what I think about is VERY important. I'd better not dwell on things when I've been:

wronged
mistreated
ignored
betrayed
cheated
denied
rejected
unloved
etc., etc., etc.

As believers we will have all of these in our lives at one point or another. It's important to not dwell on them, but to think about good things. In essence we should always be "counting our blessings", not our disappointments. We should make lists of our blessings, not the things that will hinder our walk with God.

I want to be free of strongholds, don't you?

"Elijah went before the people and said, 'How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him, but if Baal is God, follow him.' But the people said nothing."

Let's not be a 'nothing speaking' people. Let's be a people that will choose God and speak for Him!!! Let's stand up and fight this war!!!

We Have Power In Jesus Christ

Jesus has all power!! When we are born again, we, too can have the power that He has. He fulfilled the prophecy in Isaiah 61 and tells about it here in the passage in Luke.....

Luke 4:16-21

16He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to read. 17The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
18"The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
19to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."

20Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him, 21and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."


Isaiah 61

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,

2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,

3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.

We, too have this power! Hallelujah! Why are we not using it? Why are we not seeing deliverance? Healings? Miracles? I think it is because we have become apathetic Christians. We are too prosperous and fat in this great nation. We don't want anything badly enough. We are not grieved by the works of the enemy badly enough to want to tear down his strongholds. We'd rather live with them in complacency than confront them. How sad and pitiful we've become. I want this power! Do you?

Jesus said in John 14:12-14....

12I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

We are beginning to ask Jesus for His power to equip us for this type of ministry, because we want to see people saved and delivered. When they get saved we need to immediately pray for deliverance and cast out demons, so people are no longer tormented by them. There are too many Christians sitting on the pews in churches who are tormented by demons that are residing in them or hanging onto them. Why do we allow their very existence? We need wisdom and discernment to call them what they are and send them back to the very pit of hell.

God is beginning to do some mighty things and we are humbled to be a part of it. We just want to be His vessels. Are you ready to let God operate through you in a mighty way? Begin to pray and seek Him....He will show you what to do and how.

My heart's desires are:
  1. to be a godly helpmeet ("And the Lord God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an helpmeet for him." Gen. 2:18)
  2. to be a mom who leads her children to Jesus ("Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Deut. 6:5-7) and
  3. to have a home that glorifies the Lord ("She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness" Proverbs 31:27).
We moms wear many hats in the home, and there are days that it's a struggle to juggle them all and fulfill our duties well. I hope to bring encouragement and share my experiences and the experiences of others in these areas. Not that I am full of wisdom (hardly) or am trying to reinvent the wheel.....oh no, Solomon made it clear that "What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun." Ecclesiastes 1:9.

I just hope to be able to share with you some of the things I've learned on this journey called 'life' and the resources from people of wisdom that have helped me (and are helping me) along the way.

Committed to Praise

"Lord, I worship You for all that You are. You are my Lord in the good times as well as the difficult. On the mountaintop as well as in the valley. You are the King of Kings on the throne of my life in the calm as well as in the storm. I praise you in times of great blessing as well as in times of great challenge. You are Almighty and all-powerful, and I find my strength in You. It is because of You that I can stand strong, even when I feel weak. For I know that when I am weakest, You show Yourself strong. I am grateful for Your salvation, deliverance, protection, goodness, and blessings in my life every day. I know that everything I have comes from You. Because of Your great strength I go from glory to glory and “strength to strength” no matter what is happening in my life (Psalm 84:7).

I want to show my love for You every day by embracing You with my worship and touching You with my praise. Teach me all I need to know about how to worship You in ways that are pleasing in Your sight. Fill my heart with such great knowledge of You that praising You becomes a way of life. Teach me to make it my first reaction to every situation, no matter what the situation is. All honor, glory, and majesty belong to You, Lord, for You are worthy to be praised.

You are holy and righteous, and I have no greater joy in life than entering into Your presence to exalt You with worship and praise every day. I know that in Your presence I will find everything I need forever."

Committed to Pray for my Marriage:

“Lord, help me to be a good wife. I fully realize that I don't have what it takes to be one without Your help. Take my selfishness, impatience, and irritability and turn them into kindness, long-suffering, and the willingness to bear all things. Take my old emotional habits, mindsets, automatic reactions, rude assumptions, and self-protective stance, and make me patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. Take the hardness of my heart and break down the walls with Your battering ram of revelation. Give me a new heart and work in me Your love, peace, and joy (Galatians 5:22, 23). I am not able to rise above who I am at this moment. Only You can transform me.

Show me where there is sin in my heart, especially with regard to my husband. I confess the times I’ve been unloving, critical, angry, resentful, disrespectful, or unforgiving toward him. Help me to put aside any hurt, anger, or disappointment I feel and forgive him the way You do—totally and completely, no looking back. Make me a tool of reconciliation, peace, and healing in this marriage. Enable us to communicate well and rescue us from the threshold of separation where the realities of divorce begin.

Make me my husband’s helpmate, companion, champion, friend, and support. Help me to create a peaceful, restful, safe place for him to come home to. Teach me how to take care of myself and stay attractive to him. Grow me into a creative and confident woman who is rich in mind, soul, and spirit. Make me the kind of woman he can be proud to say is his wife.

I lay all my expectations at Your cross. I release my husband from the burden of fulfilling me in areas where I should be looking to You. Help me to accept him the way he is and not try to change him. I realize that in some ways he may never change, but at the same time, I release him to change in ways I never thought he could. I leave any changing that needs to be done in Your hands, fully accepting that neither of us is perfect and never will be. Only You, Lord, are perfect and I look to You to perfect us.

Teach me how to pray for my husband and make my prayers a true language of love. Where love has died, create new love between us. Show me what unconditional love really is and how to communicate it in a way he can clearly perceive. Bring unity between us so that we can be in agreement about everything (Amos 3:3). May the God of patience and comfort grant us to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus (Romans 15:5). Make us a team, not pursuing separate, competitive, or independent lives, but working together, overlooking each other’s faults and weaknesses for the greater good of the marriage. Help us to pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another (Romans 14:19). May we be “perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” (1 Cor. 1:10).

I pray that our commitment to You and to one another will grow stronger and more passionate every day. Enable him to be the head of the home as You made him to be, and show me how to support and respect him as he rises to that place of leadership. Help me to understand his dreams and see things from his perspective. Reveal to me what he wants and needs and show me potential problems before they arise. Breathe Your life into this marriage.

Make me a new person, Lord. Give me a fresh perspective, a positive outlook, and a renewed relationship with the man You’ve given me. Help me see him with new eyes, new appreciation, new love, new compassion, and new acceptance. Give my husband a new wife, and let it be me.”
